Sandwich Assistive Eating Devices (SUBCUP)

What?

  • Design and fabricate a device that allows you to eat a sub with one hand

  • Fulfill the requirements of being usable by non dominant hand, acts as storage device, and keeps the sandwich together

How?

  • Used solid features in Fusion360 to design

  • Made a engineering prototype out of cardboard as a proof of concept

  • 3D printed it out of PLA using a PURUSA i3 MK3S+

Results

  • The design fulfilled its purpose being able to lift various cylindrical shape food with low to no effort (depending on weight of load)

  • Using DFA principles reduce product assembly cost
