What?

  • Create a mechanism that holds a spin coated silicon substrate under the plasma to prevent it from blowing away

  • Minimize human operator error from current process of holding it down

How?

  • Designed on Fusion360

  • Automated a earlier version using Fusion360

  • Metal Laser cut stainless steel and aluminum to create components

  • Used Band Saw to cut down raw material

  • Used Manual Mill to face, drill, and tap to create

Results

  • Has reduced failure based on blowing away to zero

  • Has added a standard method that is more presentable to companies

  • Used DFM principles to reduce overall part production cost and ease manufacturing
